As has been said before, the feel of the shifter in terms of the shift is completely a function of the installation, not the shifter. So if it feels notchy then loose the bolt up a bit. My major concern are the roller bearings. I had a cheap shifter (APC) on my Civic Si and it felt fine...however, at a certain engine load it would make a rattling noise. It's my feeling that if the Z1 shifter does this it'll be due to the roller bearings. If that that's the case I'll have the pressed out an replaced with bronze bushings. Anyway, I won't be installing it till after December so there ya go.
